* Mounted contact prints: Mounted
photos come in a variety of sizes. Some of his earliest are from "The
Spring Roundup", a
series of 40 roundup scenes taken in 1885. Image size is 3 1/2 x 4
3/4, mounted on unmarked 4 1/2 x 5 1/4 buff mounts. Most will have a "Huffman" stamp
on the back. Sometime in the mid 1880's he started using a camera that
used a 6 x 8 negative. This was used for most of his unequaled documentation
of the open range cattle industry. These are also found on unmarked
buff mounts. Most mounted contact prints were probably made before
1905 - 06.
